(Yukon Rescue: Season 1: Open Water) Dobrodružný As calls for help roll in, brave and resourceful first responders must overcome a slew of threats — from avalanches and wildfires to flash floods and ferocious predators. In historic Dawson City, the volunteer-run fire department is the only line of defense for the tight-knit community. Along the Klondike Highway, a helicopter crew armed with explosives races to keep up with avalanches endangering critical access to ports in Alaska, while First Nations Land Guardians keep a watchful eye on the vital balance between species and the environment in their communities. Battling vast distances, scarce supplies, extreme temperatures and an unforgiving landscape, Yukon Rescue’s first responders put it all on the line to get the job done. An ice jam has severed the remote community of West Dawson from emergency services, leaving residents trapped. A 911 call comes in from across the river, and Chief Mike and his team of volunteers face a nightmare scenario. With no safe routes in or out, volunteer firefighter Chris must brave the treacherous makeshift trails across unstable ice. A terrifying accident on the way home forces an unconventional team of volunteer first responders to come to the rescue. Meanwhile, in Whitehorse, a fierce blizzard batters the highways, burying vehicles and leaving travellers stranded. As conditions spiral into chaos, Ray makes an urgent call for reinforcements, knowing that time is running out for those caught in the storm’s icy grip. MN 16 (Canada)
