(Yukon Rescue: Season 1: Call for Help) Dobrodružný As calls for help roll in, brave and resourceful first responders must overcome a slew of threats — from avalanches and wildfires to flash floods and ferocious predators. In historic Dawson City, the volunteer-run fire department is the only line of defense for the tight-knit community. Along the Klondike Highway, a helicopter crew armed with explosives races to keep up with avalanches endangering critical access to ports in Alaska, while First Nations Land Guardians keep a watchful eye on the vital balance between species and the environment in their communities. Battling vast distances, scarce supplies, extreme temperatures and an unforgiving landscape, Yukon Rescue’s first responders put it all on the line to get the job done. In the dead of night, the Dawson City Fire Department receives multiple 911 calls, sending the small crew of volunteers into action to save a historic building and a family home. Pushed to the brink and stretched thin, Chief Mike embarks on a mission to be better prepared to protect Dawson’s community and history from the worst-case scenario. In Whitehorse, a series of snowstorms torments the city. As the sun sets, a snowmobiler stuck in deep snow makes a desperate call for help. Helicopter pilot Adam Fox faces the challenge of getting the citizen and the snowmobile to safety. Meanwhile, out on the highway, icy conditions send a vehicle careening off the road, and Ray’s life is in jeopardy as he attempts to retrieve it alone. MN 16 (Canada)
