(Ice Road Rescue: Season 11: Northern Lights) Dobrodružný An epic season puts the ice road rescuers to the test, forcing them to break new ground in the battle to keep Norways roads open. From the southern mountains to the northern wilderness, winter becomes increasingly unpredictable. Snowstorms are followed by sudden shifts in temperature, bringing landslides, rockfalls and life-threatening winds. For rescue bosses Thord, Bjoern and Jo Roger, these are challenging times as they confront unprecedented natural disasters and ever-increasing demand. But they are not facing these challenges alone. The crews have welcomed a new breed of young rescuers. Collaboration with neighbouring companies has expanded their ability to succeed in the biggest missions - and their willingness to embrace new ideas and new technologies has proved more important than ever. Thord and his young crew battle a blizzard to rescue a truck that blocks one lane of a major road. As traffic speeds past, on a hill thats covered in ice, its a disaster waiting to happen. In Overhalla, fifth generation rescuer Ole Henrik is not only a partner in the business - hes now a father to three young children. As a result, hes not had much sleep. But when a truck carrying a valuable load of fish for export overturns, he has no choice but to head out and brace himself for an all-nighter. Across the border, in Sweden, local tow-trucker Ludwig calls on Raido to help out, when a box truck carrying medical supplies crashes hard into a snow-covered ditch. Because the truck is pitched nose-down and threatens to tip over, Raido takes a big risk and digs a tunnel beneath the snow, to run a support strap around the truck body. (Norway)
