In the final chapter of WWII, bringing the fight to Hitlers doorstep will be no easy task. Nazi fanatics and diehards fight back ferociously for survival, across the strongholds of occupied Europe — in France, Belgium, Italy, and into Germany itself. These are the wars final, desperate battles, told at ground level through the soldiers who lived them: from the legendary Canadian regiment The Black Watch holding the line at Verrières Ridge, to elite officers of Britains Special Boat Service (SBS) carrying out an ambush in Northern Italy. Victory will demand courage, strategy, brotherhood—and unimaginable sacrifice. With the fate of the world hanging in the balance, every man on the ground is willing to do whatever it takes. D-Day was a battle. But they still need to win the war. In September 1944, Operation Market Garden launches the largest airborne assault in history. Paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne drop deep behind enemy lines, tasked with seizing the vital bridges at Nijmegen and clearing a path into Germany. Instead, they are pulled into savage street fighting as German SS troops strike from the shadows. As the battle spreads, German forces strike the lightly defended landing zones outside Nijmegen and deploy anti-aircraft guns. With gliders carrying reinforcements already inbound, the Americans have only minutes to act before the skies turn deadly. Outnumbered and under fire, a lone paratrooper breaks from cover and charges the guns - betting everything on a desperate assault to save the landings.
