In this episode, we meet Camille Valbusa, a photographer who has made her own body the landscape of an intimate artistic exploration. Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, she grew up with a mother who worked as a lawyer but painted out of pure passion, introducing her to creativity from an early age. Camille originally dreamed of becoming a writer. By chance, photography found her first: she became a photojournalist and laterworked as an assistant on a documentary film. But that experience left her deeply shaken. Searching for a way to process what she had lived through, Camille turned the camera on herself. Self-portraiture soon became the heart of her artistic practice. For her, photographing herself is never an act of narcissism, but a way for the unconscious to reveal emotions and long-buried wounds that words cannot express. Through her body, she tells stories of vulnerability, healing, and transformation. The first time she posed nude, she admits she felt ashamed. Over time, however, nudity became an essential part of her creative process—a space of liberation wherevulnerability could be embraced rather than concealed. Working with analogue film felt like the only possible choice: slower, more tactile, and profoundly intimate. The ritual of waiting, developing the negatives, and discovering the images later allows her to surrender completely to the moment, creating a unique dialogue between herself andthe camera. More than a photographic process, Camilles work is an exploration of memory, identity, and sensuality. In the quiet encounter between light, skin, and film, she transforms deeply personal experiences into poetic images that invite us to reflect on the universal language of the body. SHOW
