From Naples folklore tombs and WWII shelters to Englands mysterious Royston Cave and Polands Wieliczka Salt Mine, the series blends myth, history and artistry. Other journeys explore Israels Cave of Letters, Denmarks Neolithic dwellings, Cold War bunkers in England and Seoul, and more. Each story reveals ingenuity, resilience and mystery, proving every city conceals a hidden world waiting to be discovered. In New York City, construction of the Freedom Tower uncovers an old ship buried beneath the ground. Built in the 1770s, the vessel was sealed beneath Manhattans shoreline expansion. In England, archaeologists uncover a mass grave of 38 men. Forensic evidence reveals they were Scandinavian Vikings or Danish settlers, killed during King Aethelreds St. Brices Day massacre. In Poland, excavations uncover wartime cellars used by Jewish resistance fighters during the Warsaw ghetto uprising. Once prayer rooms and hiding places, these underground spaces became bunkers of defiance against Nazi oppression. Finally, in Corsica, archaeologists unearth a necropolis of adult jar burials.
