(Seconds From Disaster 3: Plane Crash In Queens) Věda The third series of SFD will continue to build on this successful format that combines the dramatic human drama of real life disasters with a forensic analysis of the chain of events that triggered each event. It will extend the brands extension into iconic, historic disasters, and pilot a new approach to disasters that dont necessarily have an official investigation, under the sub-heading "Situation Critical". American Airlines Flight 587 is a popular flight between New Yorks John F. Kennedy Airport and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Two months after the 9/11 terrorist attacks on 12 November, 2001, an Airbus A300-605R takes off on this routine flight. At 9:16 AM, within two minutes of take-off, something goes horribly wrong and Flight 587 is in dire trouble. The tail fin shears off the Airbus fuselage and the plane is doomed. It slams into Rockaway, a residential area of New York City that is home to many firemen, police and their families who had been deeply affected by the events 9/11. The horrifying crash takes the lives of 265 passengers, crew, and New York City residents. Fingers inevitably point to terrorism, but could this accident be attributed to design failure or human error? With the nation waiting for answers, the National Transportation Safety Board conducts one of the most baffling and far-reaching air safety investigations ever carried out with conclusions that rock the commercial aviation industry.
