And we experience what it takes to get their job done in the face of natures wildest weather. To explain what lies behind the unpredictability and danger unfolding on the oceans surface, these first hand stories combine with scientific insight, analysis and satellite mapping. This dual perspective on one compelling story, brings together real human urgency and global weather science. The warm, shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico are a thriving hub of industry and commerce. But theyre also rocket fuel for hurricanes. The Gulf coast has been decimated in the past, but every time the marine and coastal economies bounce back.
