From increasingly powerful hurricanes to ferocious wildfires to tornadoes destroying unexpected places to rapid melt and rising water levels to destructive weather patterns and shocking rogue phenomena, climate change is still accelerating at an alarming rate, faster than anyone had predicted. The not-so-distant future could hold a terrifying reality—mutant weather. Warmer weather makes storms more volatile and unpredictable, with sudden downburst thunderstorms, giant, destructive hail and random lightning strikes on a sunny day.
