(Life Below Zero: Port Protection Alaska: Season 1: Dead Standing) Akční Port Protection, the series, is about people who have left behind normal society and chosen a different life in a remote Alaskan community. Were telling unique stories about the survival of the individuals and community. One cannot exist without the other. Our characters lead a largely subsistence lifestyle, but our stories are not just about subsistence. Our characters hunt, fish, trap, grow fruit and vegetables, and cut trees for warmth, but for each success they put a portion back into the community. Everyone gives and takes from Port Protection. The stakes are high. The land is rugged and unforgiving. The seas are cold and stormy. Help is far away. Every story includes extreme danger, but with the risk comes a reward more profound than mere survival: a world of beauty and freedom with the security of community and without the constraints of bureaucracy. In Port Protection there are no roads, no government, and no cops - thats why our characters live there. Its a world protected from the rest of society. Spring has come to Port Protection and with it a host of chores and opportunities. Mary Miller takes advantage of bear season and heads into the nearby woods to hunt her first black bear. Gary Muehlberger sets out to trap a beaver in the hopes of teaching Port Protections newest resident, Amanda Makar, how to skin and treat it for its fur. And Hans and Timbi Porter overcome their recent surgeries and hike up a nearby mountain for firewood to an astonishing patch of land known as "the blow down." MN 12 (United States)
