(Mutant Weather: Season 1: Inferno) Věda To tell the story of each weather mutation, “Mutant Weather” highlights devastating recent events through firsthand survivor accounts and heart-stopping archives. Interviews with top climate experts and those on the front lines provide authoritative information and context with animated graphics offering visual explanations. From increasingly powerful hurricanes to ferocious wildfires to tornadoes destroying unexpected places to rapid melt and rising water levels to destructive weather patterns and shocking rogue phenomena, climate change is still accelerating at an alarming rate, faster than anyone had predicted. The not-so-distant future could hold a terrifying reality—mutant weather. A warmer planet is creating drier conditions and increasing lightning activity – this means more fuel AND ignition - causing catastrophic wildfires and other anomalies like firenadoes. The trend is showing more megafires and a longer fire season, in some cases making wildfires a year-round concern. Large wildfires are also burning in unusual places such as the Arctic Circle. This episode follows recent megastorm events in California and Alberta, Canada. MN 12 (United States)
