Today, we meet Claire Picheyre, a 32-year-old self-taught photographer living in the Ariège region of southern France. Introduced to photography by her father at an early age, Claire first turned to the medium as a way of preserving memories and resisting oblivion. Over time, she developed a unique form of visual diary, using photography to capture the fleeting moments that shape a life. Her work gradually evolved into a deeply personal exploration through self-portraiture. By placing herself in front of the camera, Claire examines her body, its transformations, its vulnerabilities, and its strength. She photographs herself throughout every stage of her life, during moments of joy as well as periods of hardship. Each image becomes an intimate dialogue between photographer and subject—a confrontation that ultimately leads to self-acceptance. Through this body of work, Claire seeks to encourage women to reconnect with their bodies and reclaim them from objectification, while preserving a subtle sense of sensuality and erotic ambiguity. Photographers are rarely seen in front of the lens. For Claire, self-portraiture is a way to reclaim her own image, bear witness to the passing of time, and leave behind a visual trace of her existence. SHOW
